Congratulations
The team at SP Physiotherapy extends thier congratulations to our patient, Cara Kennedy from Paisley, who placed 6th in the vault final at this year’s Commonwealth Games.
Part of the women’s team that finished 5th place at Glasgow 2014, Cara has devoted her career to Gymnastics and has been attending SP Physiotherapy for 12 months to help heal her sporting injuries.
Despite a fantastic result, Cara has had a difficult few months following an ankle injury that impacted her training and progression. For the months leading up to the Commonwealth Games, Cara had been attending SP Physiotherapy for pain management in her lower back and ankle to ensure she was still able to compete in this year’s games, which took place in Birmingham from the 28th of July to the 8th of August 2022.
With an intense training schedule in place, SP Physiotherapy worked with Cara to prevent any compromises to her training, despite missing one competition in the run-up to the games to ensure there were no setbacks to her progress that could have negatively impacted her performance.
Owner of SP Physiotherapy
“We were honoured to work with Cara on the lead-up to the Commonwealth Games and extend our congratulations to her and her entire team.
“Her strict training schedule presented some challenges in regard to her recovery and pain management but by working together we were able to establish a pain management plan that fit into her schedule whilst ensuring optimum recovery.
“Her final result in the vault following a difficult few months is a testament to Cara’s resilience and determination, and we wish her every success in her future career”. Stephanie Richie
