This physiotherapy treatment is a “hands-on” approach. Our physiotherapists will use their hands to manipulate patients to massage and move their bodies.
There are different techniques used during manual therapy. These techniques will depend on your injury, condition, or requirements.
Joint Mobilisation
Joint mobilisation techniques are used when your physiotherapist has assessed and established areas of pain, stiffness, or hypermobility.
Joints need to keep moving to keep you mobile. If joints become stiff or restricted, patients can experience considerable pain and disability.
Joint mobilisations are predominantly used to achieve a pain-free range of movement. It is important not to overstretch a joint as this can lead to instability and hypermobility.
